• Hi,

I just finish installing Word Press and setting up the Database. The user is able to login with their credentials, but when he tries to “Install Plugin” and enter in his FTP account, he is prompt with this message “Something went wrong with the plugin API”. I’m not sure what can be causing this, I know for sure the user FTP does work by using WINscp with his credentials and it works perfectly. Do anyone have a fix for this or is there some kind of configuration I have left out in the process of setting up Word Press?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • It sounds like you may have mis-configured filesystem permissions. If permissions are configured correctly, the user wouldn’t even have to enter their FTP credentials.

    Hi Laken,

Thank you for reaching out and providing a possible solution. I have just finish trying setting permission for the directory by following the guide you have provided and I still get same error message. I went as far as setting the permission to 777 (chmod 777 DIR) and I still get this message “Something went wrong with the plugin API”.
