• Hi there,

i’ve already read some similar posts to mine but the “solutions” didn’t really work for me or haven’t been described detailed enough. Out of the blue we get the following error on our pages where we have integrated GoToWebinar:

Something’s not working. It looks like the API call to GoToWebinar isn’t succeeding. This may be because you are on a trial account. Unfortunately API calls can’t be made to GoToWebinar accounts on a trial. If you do have a full GoToWebinar licence please try re-authenticating the plugin again by pressing the ‘Click here to get Auth and Key’ button in the plugin settings. You should also clear the cache or turn the cache off in the plugin settings and this should resolve the issue.

I connected our Plugin with “Click here to connect with GoToWebinar” and it said authentification successful but it still shows the error.
I deleted the Cache but still nothing changed. Is there anything I can do about this problem?

Note: We don’t have the pro version installed.

    Greetings from Germany

    Hi @deosmarketing,

Do you have a paid GoToWebinar account with upcoming webinars on it?

Are you using our application or are you using your own application? If you are using your own application, try using our application. Thanks,

We are facing the same issue.

We are using a PAID GoToWebinar account and we are on the Pro version 14.29 of the Plugin. Since several users seem to be reporting the same issue as can be seen in this forum may be the issue is not due to our individual environment variables.

Can you please investigate further and help as we have a few important webinars coming up and would like to see this working again. It worked great in the past. Would appreciate your attention to the issue and resolution please.

    Hi @vbraju,

Can you please provide the diagnostic information which is asked for in the plugin settings. And the same goes for @deosmarketing.

I can’t repeat the issue on my end, and the fact there are 2 reports of this and not 10’s or hundreds does suggest it’s probably environmental. Typically this issue is brought up when people are first using the plugin, and they are typically using their own application which may have limits on it – this is why I have advised to use our application. Thanks,

Thank you Martin for the clarification. I think probably the below guidance and specifically the instructions ….

(“To have a more consistent connection we recommend creating an application in GoToWebinar – it does take more effort but it will be more consistent connection.”)

caused the confusion for us. We will revert to using the plugin application instead of creating an application in GoToWebinar.

To connect your website to your GoToWebiner account we provide 2 ways to connect. The easiest way is to just press the below "Click here to connect with GoToWebinar" button. However this is a shared application which means it is subject to API rate limits. To have a more consistent connection we recommend creating an application in GoToWebinar - it does take more effort but it will be more consistent connection. To do this please go to: https://goto-developer.logmeininc.com/ and click "My Apps" and sign in with your GoToWebinar details and then click the "Add a new App" button. Call your application whatever you want and give it any description you would like and then select "GoToWebinar" as the Product API. For the redirect URL please enter: https://v84.885.myftpupload.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=wp-gotowebinar and then click "Create App". Now get your Consumer Key and Secret and add it to 2 settings fields below and then click the "Save All Settings" button at the bottom of this page. Just below this message you will see the button will now say "Click here to connect with my GoToWebinar application". Please click that and then you should be authenticated with your own app!

i too am getting this same error. Do I have to delete the api i created in https://goto-developer.logmeininc.com/ and then NOT use api keys? I have a full gotowebinar account.

    Hi @rudtek2,

Please clear out your application settings on the general options tab of the plugin settings, then save the settings and refresh the page and then click the connect button and see how you go. Thanks,

    Hi @northernbeacheswebsites,

we are using a paid version of GoToWebinar and we haven’t created our own application. We connected our account with the “Click here to connect with GoToWebinar” Button and it worked properly for the last 3-5 months.

We actually only have Webinars on demand in our scheduler, but that should work as well doesn′t it?

    Hi @deosmarketing,

Please see what I said before about using our application.

    Hi @northernbeacheswebsites,

we have also made the general options completely empty and saved them as you suggested (but they are empty for us anyway, as we had not entered a consumer key or a consumer secret). Hence my question: What else should we test?

    Hi @deosmarketing,

And what happens when you re-authenticate again? Does it work again? It should. Authentication is reliant on the GoToWebinar server and your server. It is rare, but sometimes authentication can be lost, but typically re-authentication will resolve the issue.

    Thanks,
