I am trying to install WordPress on a Debian GNU/Linux system running Apache2. I followed the detailed install instructions and everything seemed to be ok, but I am experiencing a very strange problem.

If you navigate to https://sigaserver.dyndns.org/~chad/wordpress/index.php, then the blog will load correctly. If you navigate to https://sigaserver.dyndns.org/~chad/wordpress/, then the browser prompts the user for a location in which to save the .php file.

If i telnet in and GET each location I get exactly the same response (other than the timestamp). I have been through my configuration files a hundred times and cannot find anything that would explain this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update: the reason for this strange behavior was as simple as the fact that my browser had cached the wordpress/index.php file and not wordpress/. The reason they were not loading properly was because I had a muddled mess of apache2 and half-uninstalled apache (1).
