• And where is the widget? Or is this using the default WP Search Widget? You should at least mention this in the installation notes.

Regardless this does not work at all. I had it index a rather small development site and it never found anything even though I had 4 posts and several pages of content. I checked the dashboard and it shows “Hits” for each of my searches, but again “Sorry, but nothing matched…” is being displayed on the results page.

Ironically when I disable your plugin and use the default WP search function, I get results.

Also I’m using Rockettheme plugin Roksprocket, which creates slides, tabs and other content display elements. I added a tag “slide” to each of these. Is this what I’m using in the field, “Exclude these tags from search:”?

You can use any standards-compliant search form, Relevanssi doesn’t come with one since there’s a good search widget in every WP installation already.

Your problem does sound like a compatibility issue with the theme. Because WordPress doesn’t have an actual interface for replacing search, Relevanssi has to jump some hoops, and with some themes, it just doesn’t work. See most important Relevanssi debugging trick for fixing the usual problems.

What do you want to exclude, exactly?

1st thx for the quick reply. 2nd I’m using a Rockettheme, which uses their plugin RokSprocket to display slides, tabs and other dynamic content. These typically contain posts, which I am trying to exclude because when displayed on a regular page look horrible. Additionally search results show all the shortcodes.

I’ll give your debugging trick a go tomorrow morning – USA PST here.

I don’t know how RokSprocket works, so I can’t advise you further on it.

having the same type of issue. nothing comes up when searching. does this mean it’s not possible with the theme, or is there something i can try?
