I’m the admin and I have a registered user who’s been having problems logging in. However, when I change the password for this user via the Dashboard and try logging in with it, I get ‘Sorry, that email isn’t registered.’ This doesn’t jive with the following: When I request a new password for this email, I don’t get an error message, but when I request a password for an email I definitely know isn’t registered, I get “ERROR: There is no user registered with that email address.”

Not sure if this is a problem since upgrading to WP 3.5.1 or using Email Login plugin version 4.5. I have a number of other plugins I use, but no problem prior to WP 3.5.1.

What’s strange is that when I google ‘sorry, that email isn’t registered’ there are no google results, as if no one else is getting this error message.

“I suspect this is related to the Email Login plugin. That error message certainly isn’t coming from WordPress core. Have you asked the plugin’s developer about this problem?”

Turns out member_status was set to ‘2’ instead of 0: “BuddyPress uses this field. User who haven’t confirmed their registration (via email link) have user_status = 2, otherwise it is back to 0”
