My problem is that my site will not allow users to import images by url to any other site, or pin images.

When trying to pin an image the message returned is: sorry, but this site does not allow you to save pins.

That was the problem I was trying to correct when I discovered that images from my site could not be imported to any other application or site: like facebook, etc.

I just discovered that a site link in a fb post worked fine – except for the linked page’s image

    fb returned this message:

    403 Forbidden
Please be advised that LiteSpeed Technologies Inc. is not a web hosting company and, as such, has no control over content found on this site.

I thought Bingo! My problem is with the Litespeed Cache plugin. So I deactivated it and deleted it.

Now with browser cache cleared and temp files deleted — I still get the same message:

    403 Forbidden
Please be advised that LiteSpeed Technologies Inc. is not a web hosting company and, as such, has no control over content found on this site.

How am I still tied to Litespeed Cache when the plugin has been deleted?

My theme is the latest version of Customizr.

Any help will be appreciated. I would like to reinstall Litespeed Cache if it isn’t the problem. This problem sure feels like a “settings” issue with something; WordPress, Customizr, Litespeed, but I have been through setting choices in all of them and found no choice for this as an option.

  • Hello,

First – i dont thing this is related to the cache plugin. I just check one of your pages ( https://campingwithgus.com/camping-food-menu-planning/ ) and its showing 404 not found. You may wanna check your rewrite rules.

Second – 403 forbidden is given when someone (fb) is blocked and dont have access to this file. Better check you htaccess, server config and network.

To answer your other question, you are not actually “tied to LiteSpeed Cache” when you see

Please be advised that LiteSpeed Technologies Inc. is not a web hosting company and, as such, has no control over content found on this site.

That message comes from LiteSpeed Web Server.

Thanks for your response Litespeed Lisa. How would I be connected to the litespeed server – other than the plugin?

Thanks for looking tishu. That wasn’t my problem before. It is a result from my trying to delete .htaccess and Litespeed stuff last night.

I am off to do a restore now. Thanks for letting me know about this.

    Hi, appletreedeals

LSCache requires LiteSpeed Web Server in order to work, but LiteSpeed Web Server doesn’t require LSCache.

LiteSpeed Web Server is basically what powers your website. It serves content to your site’s visitors. Basically, it’s like Apache. But better ??

LSCache is the server’s cache module. It’s built-in to the server, and the WP plugin helps you control and manage the module.

I hope that clears it up!

    Thanks again Litespeed Lisa.

It was a good explanation. Does that mean my hosting service, (StableHost), is/maybe using Litespeed Web server to host my site? I had never heard of Litespeed before this issue.

And what an issue it is! First, no images could be pinned, and then I discover none cam be imported in anyway. And now, I have now crashed my site trying to fix it. Fortunately, I did do a backup and am trying to do a restore now.

Yes, that is exactly what it means.

I’m sorry to hear you are having difficulty. I hope restoring the backup does the trick!

Thanks to all that responded, and for the benefit to all looking for a solution to a similar problem.

The bottom line appears to be a corrupted .htaccess file – at least having my hosting service support team replace it fixed my problem.

Also for others searching for a solution. This is a quick fix your hosting service support should provide free. If not, then you are with the wrong service.
