• I was using www.ads-software.com a while back. My relative was helping me use it. I’m almost positive it was .org not .com. I was pretty familiar with WordPress back then, but I did not set up anything else.

Recently I’m trying to start a new project. I found a url on godaddy I want to get. I’m not sure how the whole process for starting up a website is like.

He was using hostgator, filezilla, the download wordpress, and had a domain that was payed for every month. I’m not sure how all of this works. How could I get a new website like this started?

Also is there a www.ads-software.com plan that sorta has comes with all these helps?

Just those two questions.. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks. and much blessing

www.ads-software.com is the open-source and self-hosted WordPress. There are no plans and this is volunteer-driven software.

WordPress.com is the closed-source and not self-hosted WordPress. There are plans and this is a business-driven software.

When you say you were using www.ads-software.com, that makes me think you were using WordPress.com – as there is no www.ads-software.com. Just software that you download and put on your own server.

[ Redacted ] does offer a WordPress Hosting plan, where WordPress comes pre-installed so you don’t have to worry about FTP (FileZilla), nor do you have to worry about setting up the MySql database or making changes to the wp-config file. The page says that it comes with a domain if you pay for an annual plan, so you don’t have to worry about purchasing a URL separately. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and read the FAQ for more information.

I have an account with [ Also redacted ], but I prefer to manually install and update everything myself.

I’ve changed the topic title to reflect what this is about. “Sorry to ask, can I get opinion?” was way too click baity.

I’m also closing this topic as it’s really about hosting and those topics get spammy real quick.
