Just installed under a fresh install of WP using Timber, and receive “Sorry you are not allowed to access this page” as soon as I try to edit the Admin Columns settings. Other plugins and general WordPress functionality works fine – just this plugin causing issues.

I’m not sure if this issue is related to Timber, but I suspect that our plugin is installed and activated by the use of WP-CLI or another plugin manager other than WordPress. All capabilities for using our plugin are set on the register_activation_hook function of WordPress but we already found that function is not very reliable. This issue is on our radar and we’re trying to make a fix for the upcoming maintenance release. If this is indeed the case, you could try to deactivate the plugin and activate it again on the WordPress plugins page.

Can you let me know if this fixes the problem?

Thanks @dungengronovius, you suspected correctly! I did indeed install the plugin via WP CLI, and deactivating then activating the plugin through WordPress solved the problem – interesting. Thanks for the help!
