Hi, I’m experiencing an issue on one of our sites, where the plugin (v2.0.1) is not anymore visible in the menu, however, the codes inserted are still active on the website.

When I try to access the plugin settings via the Plugins > “Code Snippets” > it returns the error “Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”.

I’ve tried to de/activate, reinstall, clear cache/database, de/activate other plugins – none of which worked.

Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi @splinarcz,

From what you are describing it sounds like the plugin is unable to assign the custom capabilities needed to access the admin pages.

That should happen automatically when you update or manually when you activate the plugin.

Would it be possible to check the PHP error logs for your server to see if maybe there is something preventing the activation routine from running correctly?

    Thanks

Hi, thanks for your reply. I’ve just checked the error logs, however, there are no errors recorded.

    Hi @splinarcz,

Can you please make sure you haven’t enable the Headers & Footers mode?

If you enabled that you should still see a submenu at Settings > Header & Footer and from there you can disable the “Simple mode” to get the full snippets functionality back.

Hi @gripgrip, yes you’re completely right. The H&F mode was enabled and it wasn’t clear where to find the settings (plus I have installed another plugin called Header and footer builder – adding to the confusion).

As a matter of feedback, I’d suggest including a menu item for both modes called let’s say “WPCode” which could be accessed from the same menu location, no matter the mode.

    Thank you for your support!
