Sorry, you are not allowed to preview drafts.

  • I recently migrated my site from local host using duplicator. Site is up and running fine but when I try to preview changes it says “Sorry, you are not allowed to preview drafts”

    I loaded my site into its own folder on the root I then moved the .htaccess and the index.php folders to the foot and changed the index to /new_site/wp-blog-header.php again it all works go so far except I can’t preview. I have checked permissions in plesk and see no issues. I see this has come up a lot but I have yet to read a solid answer as to how I fix it.

    In Settings>general>WordPress address I have https://www.mysitedotcom/new_site
    And site address is https://www.mysitedotcom/
    I set it up like it says to below my site address so I’m not really sure whats happening!

    I’m really scratching my head here, any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

    /?preview_id=4020&preview_nonce=d66067eb54&_thumbnail_id=-1&preview=true

    that is what it puts as an address when i preview, if i shorten it to:

    /?preview_id=-1&preview=true

    then it will work……hope that helps

    Any solution to this? I got this error when upgrading from 4.6.1 to 4.7.

    What worked for me: Deleting the browser’s cookies for the site I was working on.
