    Hi,
We are using the plugin and all was great.
However, today a customer contacted us to say that they could not add items to the basket.
I replicated the issue and received the following errors:
sorry you can’t add this product to your cart – in the cart pop up
Error adding product to cart – on the product page.

I turned off plugins one by one and found that turning off your plugin fixed the issue.

I presume that this error has occurred because of the recent WooCommerce update, seeing as no other shop plugins have been updated recently.

I hope you can help with this issue and would love to be able to use the plugin again very soon.

    can you help? thanks

    Hi @stevejharris

Any chance you can turn it on briefly and send me a product page link so I can test?

add to basket, pop up shows the error. pop up disappears. the error message shows on the product page. no items added to the basket.

Thanks! Can you also send screenshots of configuration of the fields for that product in the backend?

    Hi @stevejharris

You’ve added a field of type “checkboxes”, but didn’t actually add any checkboxes. So you only have a label and a description. A recent update of our plugin added extra security/validation when adding to cart. For a “checkboxes” field, the system will (logically so) expect at least one checkbox to be added to cart. Since you didn’t add any, the validation mechanism will block adding to cart.

The solution would be to add at least one option in your “checkboxes” field. However, that brings me with a 2nd issue I see on your site:

Your theme (or a plugin) overwrites the default WooCommerce “add to cart” technique with its own method (non-native to WooCommerce). It uses a technology whereby adding to cart does not have to reload the page (called “ajax add to cart”). Our free version does not work with that technology.

So even if you were to add a form element, you’d still get the error.

    In short:

It seems like you’re using our plugin in a way it was not intended. If you just want to add some information to your product (as opposed to a form element), our free version is not the correct fit for your use case.

    Hope that helps!

many thanks. I’ll have a think about what to do next.

    I there,
I’ve been testing the free version of the plugin on my website (WooCommerce) and I encountered the same issue.

When I’m on my products page (https://www.nadiakara.be/shop-pets-merch/), and I want to select options, I get an error message (sorry you can’t add this product to your cart).
However, I’m able to add products to the cart via a product page.

When on my cart page, I can’t see which options I’ve selected.

This seems to be happening in combination with my theme Phlox, I see @maartenbelmans that you’re mentioning an issue from some themes overwriting the default WC add to cart.
I’m emailing Phlox as well but I wanted to know if this might be a known issue that I can easily fix.

    thank you!

    Hi @nkbe

Next time, please start your own topic as now the original poster will get an email with replies on a topic that is already closed.

As for your issue: I see you have a plugin “Auxin Elements” (or something like that) which is taking over all the “select options” buttons.
