Sort Categories By Post Count??

  • I’d like to sort my categories link by # posts in each category. Thus, if my “news” category over time becomes more popular than my “hamsters” category, I’d like it to bleed to the top.

    I looked in the ~templates-categories.php~ file, but couldn’t see an obvious way to make this mod. Anyone have any ideas?

  • I’m also interested in this – specifically for sorting the_category() by post count.

    i want to do this also, but can’t figure out how to do it. i have about 500 categories on my WP blog, and most have 4-5 posts per category, but others have 100+ posts. need to get these to the top somehow. any ideas?
