Sorting by deadline + Deadline date issue

Is it possible to have listings sorted by closing date (earliest to latest) with those that don’t have a closing date listed after?

Yes, you could do this by writing a hook to job_manager_get_listings_args that change the orderby attribute here: https://github.com/Automattic/WP-Job-Manager/blob/master/includes/class-wp-job-manager-ajax.php

Listings are closing on the day of their deadline (first thing in the morning) as opposed to at the end of the day. Is it possible to change the listing so it would close at the end of the day of the deadline (ie. Jan 1, 11:59pm)?

Thanks, Jon, for getting back to me so quickly. I’ve submitted an issue to GitHub. In terms of the adding a hook to the plugin, do I add that code from the link to the already existing code in the class-wp-job-manager-ajax.php file? Or replace it?

Hooks are typically added to the themes functions.php file, however a better method is to use this plugin: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/code-snippets/

Hi Jon – I’ve installed the snippet for the sorting of dates and it’s working, but it’s sorting by the date that the post was listed, not the closing date of the job (https://pact.ca/artsboard/). Is there a change in the snippet that would change that?

Actually – perhaps it didn’t work. I realized after I sent my last msg that I hadn’t activated the snippet. When I did, it crashed the site and i had to remove the plugin.
