“Enable Sort Bar?” is enabled, but the sorting is not displayed on the listing page.

Also, Sortbar Fields in the backend are not clickable.

    Hi @officezen,

Sorry that you ran into issues here!

When you made the change, did you also flush your cache to make sure you’re seeing the new data on the front end and not old stuff?

If you don’t flush the cache after that operation, you’ll be seeing old data on your browser.

We recommend clearing the server cache, if you have one (which is found either in your hosting settings or on your plugin settings for things like WP Super Cache and W3TC if you have them installed), as well as your client browser cache.

The best way to get uncached data on your browser is to use a Private browsing window or Incognito mode (depending on your browser). That ensures you’re seeing the latest, correct data.

I’m not sure I understand what you mean by “Sortbar Fields in the backend are not clickable”. On what screen do you see this?

Can you show me a screenshot?

With Caching plugin on or off, it still does not show the sorting option front-end.

Directory Admin -> Manage Options -> Settings -> Enable Sort Bar?

Right under it, there are checkboxes you can select the fields to be sorted by. No matter which one I click it does not select it.

Have you tried a conflict test to see if that somehow allows you to click those boxes? They shouldn’t be disabled once you click that “Enable Sortbar” checkbox above them?

Sortbar doesn’t even show up using Twenty-Sixteen theme in the first place.

OK, the sortbar was not showing because I haven’t been able to select any of the fields.

I checked in Chrome and the fields were selectable. I was using Firefox before.

Please check the sortbar field checkboxes in Firefox and see if you face the same issue.

    Hi @officezen,

We’ve checked this and we’re not able to reproduce this particular issue.

Can you tell me a bit more?
    – What version of WP are you running here?
    – What version of PHP?
    – What exact version of BD? (number, please)
    – Have you tried a conflict test yet? Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/support-forum/faq/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

    Thread Starter officezen

    (@officezen)

    WP: 4.7.5
    PHP: 5.6.30
    BD: 4.1.12.1

I have tried the conflict test – I even installed the plugin on a different WP site and the same symptom occurs in Firefox.

Did you test it is Firefox and are you confirming that it is working in FF?

    Thread Starter officezen

    (@officezen)

This has been fixed in the latest BD 4.1.13 for Firefox.

    Thanks!

Yep! I was going to post that and let you know, but you already found it. ?? It was a browser bug in Firefox specifically that we had to work around. Ugh.
