I changed the order of the products into English, Italian, and Spanish. It works in the Sorting area of Products, but it doesn’t update the Shop and the Published as well (I don’t know if this last one is supposed to update as well, but it would be nice if it did.).

    Can you please help?

    Thank you!

    Hi @sarana01

I understand you’re having trouble with the product order not updating on the Shop and Published pages after changing the sorting in the Products area. The sorting order in the Products area usually affects the admin area and not the front end of your website.

To change the order on the Shop page, you may need to adjust the “Default product sorting” under Appearance> Customize > WooCommerce > Product Catalog > Default product sorting.

As for the Published page, it’s not designed to reflect the product sorting changes by default. However, you may be able to achieve this with custom code or a plugin.

Here are some resources I found that could be of great help to you:

Alternatively, you can use an additional plugin like Extra Product Sorting Options for WooCommerce or Product Sort and Display for WooCommerce. It provides more advanced options for sorting your products on your Shop page, which may help resolve your issue.

I hope this helps! If you have any more questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.

    Good morning Shameem:)

Thank you for your kind reply.

I’m puzzled, though, because you say that Sorting only works on the back end and is not reflected in the front end, but the learnwoo article you shared with me says otherwise. In the front end, in the Customizer, I have already selected “Default sorting with custom ordering and name” under Default Sorting Products and based on many articles I have read about the topic, I should be able to do this without the plug in.

Can you please clarify? Before diving in which plugin does what, I would like to understand the information you shared.

    Thank you!

    Hello @sarana01,

You’re correct that the “Default sorting with custom ordering and name” option in the Customizer should allow you to set a custom order for your products on the front end. This setting should work without the need for an additional plugin.

If this setting isn’t working as expected, it might be due to a theme or plugin conflict. I recommend temporarily switching to a default WordPress theme (like Storefront) and disabling all plugins except WooCommerce to see if the issue persists.

If the problem is resolved, you can re-enable your theme and plugins one by one to identify the source of the conflict.

Also, these types of issues could be related to the web browser you’re using. A good step to troubleshooting this would be to try clearing your browser’s cache. This can often help in resolving general site loading or performance issues.

You can follow our detailed guide on clearing browser cache here: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

I hope this clarifies things, but please let me know if you have any further questions or if there’s anything else I can assist you with.

    Hi Shameem,

thank you for getting back to me. I sincerely appreciate it. Now that you confirmed this, I will sort this out with the developer of the theme because when I replaced the theme with a default theme, the Sorting was working. I just wanted to be sure since the first message was a bit confusing.

    Once again, thank you.

    Hi @sarana01,

I’m glad to hear that the sorting function works as expected when you switch to a default theme. This indeed confirms that the issue lies with your current theme.

Please do reach out to your theme developer and let them know about this issue. They should be able to provide a fix or an update to resolve the issue.

Meanwhile, I will be marking this thread as resolved. Should you have further inquiries, kindly create a new topic here.

Thank you once for using WooCommerce and for your understanding.
