Sigh. Another release, still no mention of sorting. Am I the only one who thinks that missing this feature on a cascading system of redirects is crazy?

Hi Sith Lord Goz, I’m in the same boat as you if you are talking about being able to sort the 404’s by the amount of hits?

I’ve got 6090 404’s in one week after merging 3 websites into one. I can’t deal with each of them one by one, so logically I would sort them by the number of hits.

Having a list of 6090 404’s is useless if i don’t know how many hits they’ve had!

My solution at the moment is to do it via Google analytics using this technique

I hope the plugin developer will notice us, I’d be happy to pay for this feature – I can’t find any WP plugin that does it

@morktron Actually I’m talking about being able to re-order the redirects to define in which order they are processed. This is really key since regex redirects would need to come after static ones to allow the cascading to work, and avoid an infinite loop. This plugin had the re-order feature in 2.3.6 but for some reason, it got dropped.

I hear you on the 404 thing too though – being able to sort the display table by one of the column headings is easy to code. If i were you, i’d start a new support ticket for that – I’m not sure if the author reads these posts, but it can’t hurt!

(Don’t forget if you have db access, you can pretty easily view the 404s by hits using some simple sql)

    +1

Ok cool, thanks Sith Lord Goz, it’s over my head what ever your topic is!

I’ve decided to use Analytics and Web Master Tools to work out what 404’s need dealing with the most

I made a new topic, hopefully the author read this forums:

Unlikely. There are several open threads on this topic with no reply from the author ??

I’ve posted a mention of this thread and the comment about the other ones on https://github.com/johngodley/redirection/issues/22, but that issue has been open for over 7 months with no reply from John Godley himself.

He seems to be active on Twitter. Maybe we can try him there…
