It looks like it might be a conflict with the theme. If you can access your site via File Manager of FTP, rename the wp-content/themes/tripod folder – such as tripod1 or something.

Then you should be able to access your site as it will deactivate that theme. Go to Appearance in WordPress and it should tell you it’s activating the default theme.

You can then change the folder name back to tripod, refresh the Appearance screen and try to reactivate Tripod. Hopefully this time if there’s an error it will give you an error message.

You may want to try contacting the theme author in case it’s a common issue.

Just changed the tripod folder to tripod1 via ftp – I now get a “ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS” message :-/ It was working perfectly before the upgrade

    Have let the author know

Do you have a redirect plugin turned on? I know in the past these can cause this error.

What version of WordPress were you on before the upgrade?

I was on 3.7 before hitting the upgrade button

You could try temporarily disabling all plugins and themes by changing the /plugins folder to /plugins1 and the /themes folder to /themes1

That should allow you to at least access the site. Then visit the Appearance and plugins pages which should tell you they’ve been deactivated, then rename the folders back to the original. Then you can reactivate plugins one by one to see if any cause an issue and use a different theme for now.
