• When I copy text from Word into Gutenberg, Gutenberg does a nice job of splitting it into blocks. However, I have to go through it because there are random places where spaces between words have been removed. It is a lot of proofing and editing when it was supposed to be a seamless copy and paste.

Has anyone else had this, and is there a way to avoid it? I’ve tried Word 2013 and Word from Office 365 – they both do it. I’m on a Windows 10 environment.

    Thanks.

  • Happens to me too. Not a big deal, but hope this can be fixed.

To me this is a big deal. I don’t want to take any chances on publishing typos, and this is one more place a typo could occur. And it means I have to go through every post my client puts up because he is not going to check this.

I found this error on GitHub and it is supposed to be fixed for WordPress 5.0.2. I hope it is.

    Thanks for your response.

I’m having this same issue but the space issue also seems to occur with some old posts originally created in the classic editor when the posts are converted to blocks. Anyone else seeing that? I like Gutenberg except for this. It is time consuming to have to read through posts to find the missing spaces.
