• I need to use the possibility to set a page as a “Splash Page”.
I found it in the WordPress Default 1.6 as a template of a page but I can’t find any other theme that gives me this function.
    How can I resolve it?
    thanks

  • Create your splash page as a WordPress page.

Then, in the Admin panel, navigate to Settings/Reading. Under Front page displays, select ‘static page’, use the dropdown to select your newly created splash page and then Save Changes.

First of all thanks for your reply,
My splash page, isn’t a WordPress Page, is a simple html page with 2 links to different sections of the site. I need to have two different sections, the italian section and the arabic one. The sections differs each other both for the language (sure) and for the content.
I need to have different pages and so different sidebar menu for example.
    It’s not a simple translation.
To get this I installed two WordPress in two different folders. In this way one splash page link is linked to the italian section the other to arabic section.
Maybe it’s a dirty solution but is the unique that I found for now.
I tested this solution in local in my pc. I wrote the html page and put it in mysite/wp-content/themes/default folder. Then I created for both wordpress installation one empty wordpress page setteing them as a SplashPage template. And here I’m in trouble, becouse in the defoult theme I have this option in other themes I have downloaded I haven’t it.
    ??

I’ve seen people use a sneaky trick on this one. Naturally, WordPress’ index.php is the homepage for the site. If you or your host can change the default document to home.php or something else, this can be your splash when a user arrives. Then link them from that page to index.php to see the blog. WordPress won’t have any trouble with this.
