  • Yoast had become too bloated and its interface always had been too convoluted for my liking. But it was a good choice way back when and it didn’t really get in my way, so I kept it around.

    Then came the now infamous banner in the admin area. That’s one of the biggest no-no’s for a theme or plugin in my opinion. Therefore I’ve now happily switched to The SEO Framework (there’s even a plugin to migrate your settings from Yoast).

    We understand that the Black Friday banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was a bit buggy so last Thursday we released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin panel.
