    Hello

immediately after installing WP Mail SMTP, all the emails that I receive have the subject with the prefix “***SPAM***”.
They don’t go to the spam folder, and that’s very nice, but they have that prefix that is a serious problem because everyone who buys in the shop receives an email with the subject ***SPAM***…
No matter if the email is sent by WooCommerce, or by the Contact Form, every email has that prefix.

This happens only on the server Greengeeks which provides a lot of security measures that honestly, give me always more problems than real safety. But in this case the problem I think is caused by their security measures + something triggered by your plugin, because before using your plugin I didn’t have this problem.

The same set of plugins and the same theme, on other servers like Hostgator, with the same email providers for the reception, don’t give the same problem.

Do you have any idea about the cause of this issue? How could your plugin trigger a safety measure on Greengeeks that would add “***SPAM***” to the subject of the emails? I suppose that prefix is added by the email provider of the receiver, but I have no idea about how it would be related to your plugin. Has someone else had the same problem?

    THank. you in advance.

  • Hi @giuse,

Thanks for reaching out. That usually happens if you have spam filter extensions such as SpamAssassin installed on your browser or the mailbox.

I suppose that prefix is added by the email provider of the receiver, but I have no idea about how it would be related to your plugin.

It could be related if you have the plugin incorrectly configured. When you get a chance, could you please send a test email from WP Mail SMTP > Tools > Email Test and check if you get any errors or warnings about DNS records? In the meantime, make sure the “From Email” of the sent emails are authenticated. Spam filtering usually happens for emails sent from an unauthenticated sender.

    I hope this clarifies!

    Hi @sanzeeb3

thank you very much for your reply.

The problem was caused by the filer SpamAssassin. After increasing the limit it was ok.

Strange, because the test email is perfect and without errors.

Thank you very much for your great support and amazing plugin!
