One of my clients just sent me an email that made it through CleanTalk. It looks like it came through the site’s contact form — saved in our contact form logs on the site. I have a time that it came through and a Ct_checkjs_cf7 number in my logs.

But when I go to the Cleantalk dashboard to flag this as spam, I don’t see it anywhere. It is not only spam, but a quite malicious phishing attack. Fortunately our staff did not click on the link.

I wanted to flag it so you could blacklist them…but I can’t find the log entry, and that has me even more concerned. I don’t want to post client’s name or personal information on the forum.

I’m sure we were not the only ones to get hit by this bot.

    Hello, @deleyna.

It could two reasons in our experience.

    1. Some very smart spambot that uses WordPress bugs and vulnerabilities and can post data directly.

    2. A short period of time when the CleanTalk plugin can not connect to the CleanTalk servers.

Those instances are rare but they still happen.

Please, keep the plugin up to date as often as possible. We recommend to set up an auto-update option:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/cleantalk-auto-update

Also, add the spammer’s IP and e-mail to your personal list. The guide is here:
    https://cleantalk.org/help/blacklist-usage

    Best wishes.
