I have MC4WP on a number of sites and most are getting multiple spam sign ups daily.

This has been going on for some time and I cant seem to get a handle on it.

Recently, I installed WPbruiser on 2 sites on test mode and have clicked the MC4WP button in settings but get this error:

    Submitted Form: MailChimpForWp
    Test Status: Rejected
    Reject Reason: Invalid Token
    Client Ip Address: 217.117.248.140
    Client User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Linux x86_64; rv:102.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/102.0
Warning : Do not activate protection for MailChimpForWp !

Cant seem to get a handle on this spam issue and wondering if I need to use a different signup form going forward?

Sadly WPBruiser seems to have been abandoned and in some server configurations it’s not working anymore. On my own PHP 8 test server WpBruiser is throwing some errors as well.

Of course turning on double opt-in will filter out all the spammers, but it may also filter out a couple of real sign-ups as people sometimes neglect to click the opt-in link.

Thank you. Is there a solution we can expect from MC4WP anytime soon?

I can’t give out any public predictions on when new features will be available.

Is there a workaround in the meantime you can suggest?

turning on double opt-in for the form you’re getting a lot of spam signups on will do it.
