• Hi there,

I’m Stephane, one of the developers of the Akismet API, plugin, etc.

We’ve received a support ticket from one of your users bringing up the fact that the Akismet cleanup functions that delete spam messages older than 14 days are not handling the way Flamingo stores the CF7 messages, leading to many spam messages remaining there forever. The reason for that is that said Akismet cleanup functions handle data stored as comments, but Flamingo uses custom post types to do so.

I see in includes/class-inbound-message.php that you keep meta data on those posts that keep track of the result Akismet provided when checking for spam.

Ideally, we’d love if you could add cleanup handling similar to what’s being done in the Akismet plugin through the akismet_scheduled_delete action found here: https://plugins.trac.www.ads-software.com/browser/akismet/trunk/class.akismet.php?rev=2086419#L31

It seems like it would be a nice addition to your product, and would help your users managing their content.

    Thanks for considering it.
    Stephane
