Spam mail getting through

Hi,

Will update plugin later this week with support for Cyrillic, etc. The banned words filter only supports words, not single characters.

IMO the best way to avoid spam is to allow no links or only 1 link in Message field, no email address in Message field and activate the “ignore” feature. This way (human) spammers are not aware that their submissions are being ignored.

Yes we did enable that too. Its a good option.

No, I use a word boundary, as explained here. Otherwise this may result into unexpected behavior.

Can you help me understand how this is still possible? Disallowed links & emails and a word that is in here and still he was able to send this. The way its written it looks like a human trying to aggrevate me. Hope its ok to send what was send:

Your text is moderated by the forum admin.
A gmail address should be blocked. But it will get through when it for example has a whitespace before the @ character. Same applies for the banned words. It must fully match otherwise it gets through.

You could send me your text so I can do some testing. Please send it via my test website. I will reply here afterwards. Thanks!

Ok, but do you agree that this must be a human spammer, cause he is dodging so many hurdles. I dont get why anyone would want to do this, but i dont believe myself a bot could do this..

Unfortunately I can imagine this one is getting through.

Email address was not in message body itself. But I now notice when it is added in message body, but there are line breaks there as well (text contains of multiple text lines), this breaks the email filter. So will fix this asap.
It seems that the link was added without http(s) or www as prefix. Will try to find a solution for this.
It does filter banned words (notoriety, 456FgDDY8) but don’t use special characters as prefix, such as @ or #. Somehow this breaks the filter.

Hello Guido, thank you again for this. You are right about the email, that is not in the message box indeed, I didnt register that correcty. Yes it feld a lot like some butthurt human spammer trying to annoy, cause a lot of his usual spam cant get through. Hopefully he ends up helping all of us to even stop more spam ??

Because of these spammers and support from you I agree that filters are getting better. Will update plugin this week.
Meanwhile you can do a test on my test site, I think it should work as expected now. The mail you’ve send to me should not be getting through anymore.
