lately I’ve been getting a bunch of spam from my Caldera Form on my website. All coming from mail.ru. one every 15 minutes or so. I don’t know if the built in antispam is doing anything for me at all.

Anyone else see this recent uptick? Any suggestions on how to reduce this? Other than upgrading to pro, which doesnt work financially for my personal website blog.

  • Same here.I find myself singing the Monty Python spam song every day.

I added the recaptcha that Caldera mentions on their site (https://github.com/andrewlimaza/caldera-forms-anti-spam), but it is not stopping the Russian onslaught.

They also recommend Anti-Spam Bee, but Anti-Spam Bee themselves says they only work on comment spam.

We’ve been targeted by this spambot as well. We’ve found that the advanced antispam works well to stop it within Caldera Forms Pro. Alternatively, we would recommend signing up for a security plugin such as Sucuri or SiteLock.

We already had WordFence installed, but the recaptcha seems to have worked. I realize that plugin authors have a company to run and premium plugins to sell and that is all good and fair, but please do keep in mind that his forum is supposed to address issues in the non-premium plugins. Had we been able to use the Pro level add-ons we would have. It’s just not currently feasible, and the free version did previously work wonderfully with the honeypot that was since removed. It would be great if it were added back. Thanks very much for responding.
