SPAM message?

    Hi, I tried to post a listing I keep getting these two errors:

    We found errors in the details you submitted. A detailed error message is shown in front or below each invalid field. Please fix the errors and submit the form again.

    Your Ad was flagged as spam. Please contact the administrator of this site.

    I’ve successfully created other listings but for some reason when I try to list this particular one (a local church) it gives me these two errors and I dont know which field it relates to as it is a general error and not one that shows up under a particular field.

    Sorry that you ran into issues here!

    SPAM is super frustrating and I understand that the error message above was not expected. It sounds like you activated Akismet support in AWPCP, and that is a bit of a black box as to why it marks ads as spam. It could be a number of things–the content you used, the IP address of your server, the reputation of your domain, etc. It’s hard to say, and Akismet certainly isn’t talking.

    You might try creating it administratively instead of through the front end and see if that helps. It tends to bypass stuff like that.

    Try that and let me know if you run into more issues.

    Hi @awpcp, I’ve only been creating the ads administratively and I get that error. So far they’ve been religious listings so perhaps its that it doesnt like. So in your opinion it could be the website addresses and emails that could be the problem?

    If I went premium would this issue still be possible?

    Hard to say–this is the first time I’ve seen religious sites get explicitly rejected. You might try disabling Akismet integration for AWPCP and then submitting these ads and then re-enable.

    Alternately, try submitting the listing with a fake website and email that isn’t associated to them and see if that allows you to get it listed. Akismet is weird.

    Yes, the settings are under Classifieds->Settings, General tab.
