    Hello guys,

I am loving the plugin so far however I have a question regarding spam.
Is there a way to limit what a guest user can post? By username and IP if possible?
Also is there a way to block certain words I might not want to see in the listings, URLS etc?

I see this on multiple sites that are using this plugin, but I haven’t been able to figure out yet what they are using.

    Hi Snowlav,

No, we don’t support any of those features at this time.

I presume that you’re already using reCAPTCHA integration here–is that correct? That’s the first line of defense I would suggest. You’ll find that under Directory Admin->Options, General tab if you didn’t already.

The second would be to use registration and require it to post. Spam users are lazy, but if you’re up against human spammers, this won’t stop them.

The third would be to do some study of the incoming IPs and if you find a particular country is spamming you, block them with any of the WordPress plugins (such as LionScripts’ one) to block the IPs or the country.

One last suggestion is that you can use CloudFlare (it’s free!) to reverse proxy your traffic and block out the spammy traffic in the first place. https://cloudflare.com for more details.

Thank you, I noticed sites like https://www.kikfriend.com are doing exactly what I ask with this plugin as well.

Any idea what they might be using?

I wouldn’t know that, unfortunately. I would contact them directly and ask–that’s probably the easiest way to find out.
