Spam problem ?

  • Upgraded to a nightly yesterday, then rolled back to 1.2.
    A friend of mine who comments uses a f*ckhotmail.com address, and I always have to approve her comments (I have told her but she just won’t change).
    She just posted a comment. I got the email to approve, yet it went straight to the page as well. It is waiting for moderation in admin and not featured on the comments page unless I go to mass edit mode.
    When I rolled back, I deleted all the wp files, and uploaded a complete backup. I then ran upgrade.php
    Spam words box is up to date, Kittens plugin also installed.
    Edit: I just approved it, and now the comment shows twice.

  • do you have a copy of your db prior to upgrading to the nightly? if so, restore that.

    Oh I’m not hugely fussed – 1.3 will be out soon enough – and I’ve made posts since, just reporting it as a possible issue. I have no idea how moderation works and how it may have changed between 1.2 and 1.3

    it’s probably a db problem. i haven’t used 1.3, so i don’t know how much the database has changed. if the db has changed considerably, downgrading to 1.2 and running the 1.2 upgrade script probably won’t help.
