    Hi there,

I was delighted to see you offer specific protection for ConvertKit and ActiveCampaign forms.

I’m using MailerLite and I have ‘Protect external forms’ set to on, but I’m still getting spam sign ups.

I have tried setting the Anti-Crawler mode, but this messes up the pop up form I am using: I have specified that the pop-up form should not be shown on the home page (link above) but, because the Anti-Crawler mode adds the ?swfnnnnnnn variable to the URL, the instruction to not show the pop up form is ignored.

This means that the pop up form is being shown to visitors to the lead capture page, which is not good.

I currently have the Anti-flood setting on, but I’m still getting spam sign ups.

Great if you could let me know whether protection for MailerLite forms is in your development path.

    Many thanks!

    Martin.

    Thank you for waiting.
We have finished our tests. Please, enable this option:
? WordPress Admin Page —> Settings —> Anti-Spam by CleanTalk —> Advanced settings —> set the option “Custom Contact Forms” to “On” —> Save Changes.

After doing that the anti-spam protection will work properly.

    Did it help?

    Hi there,

Many thanks! I have enabled ‘Custom Contact Forms’ and I’ll let you know if I’m still having problems.

    Cheers,

    Hi there,

I’m afraid enabling the ‘Custom Contact Forms’ prevents anyone and everyone from moving forward..!

After entering an email address the form should redirect the person to an interim confirmation page. However, entering an email address with the Custom Contact Form protection enabled results in nothing happening: the email address remains in the email field and the visitor is not redirected.

I have switched off that field temporarily as I’m currently running a promotion.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

    Hi @alexandergull

I apologise: the problem was my fault: I wrongly activated ‘Protect external forms’, rather than ‘Custom contact forms’.

I now have ‘Custom Contact Forms’ activated and ‘Protect external forms’ set to OFF, and the problem of genuine sign ups being blocked has been fixed – the opt in forms now work correctly.

Further, the spam opt ins have been stopped as well.

Many thanks, both for your help and your patience!

    Martin.
