  • I am having the same problem! How can the spam accounts be blocked, please?

    I’ve been using this plugin for a year with no problem but in the last fortnight I’ve had tonnes of spam subscribers from domains ending in .ru

    Is there anyway to block them?

    @jackjjw @theredeemedway @nelyar

    Apologies for the inconvenience caused.
    We did release a new version with the fix but we found that some of our subscribers are still facing an issue. We are currently working on this on priority and will soon release a new version.

    I will get back to you once a new version has been released.

    Thank you ?? there is no need to apologise I appreciate the work you’re doing to fix it a lot. It’s interesting to me that everyone has been receiving the same spam.

    Thanks for your hard work and the great plugin.

    I’m on the forum for the same reason. Hundreds of spam subscribers a day, all with a .ru email. So am I correct to assume that the plugin doesn’t yet have an option to add a Captcha box to the subscription form?

    Hi, I have managed to solve the problem. I have installed an SSL certificate on my website and now it works under https. At the moment the rain of false Subscribers has stopped. I do not know if this is only a momentary solution until the hacker detects my new address. But I mention it in case the creators help and help.
    Thanks, the plugin is still the best

    Interesting. Thanks for the info, @nelyar.

    Hello,

    I have version 3.4.9 and am facing the same problem. It would be nice to have a reCaptcha and a honeypot (invisible blank) field.

    @jackjjw

    We are on schedule to release a new version tomorrow.

    @nelyar @w-g
    I’m glad the issue on your end has been resolved but I’m afraid it would be temporary.
    As said, we are on schedule to release an update tomorrow.

    Rainmaker can be integrated with Email Subscribers. Rainmaker by default has a honeypot.

    Tomorrow is now today.. any news on the progress of this new version?

    So — I am using version 3.4.10, and so far (over 8 hours) no problems with spam-subcribers!

    Thank you for this update!

    Hi, I’m having the same issue, I’m encountering mass subscriptions from xxx(at)mail.ru, even using/enforcing https. I’d be grateful if you found a solution soon.
    Thanks in advance
    Kind regards
    Michael

    Did you update the plugin to the latest version? Did you update your WP install to 4.9.5?

    Those that have, from what I have read, no longer are getting spam subscriptions.

    Did you update the plugin to the latest version 3.4.11? If yes, then this should not occur. If it occurs, please contact us Icegram – Support.
