spam user registration

  • Using UM and love the plugin. I am getting a lot of spam registered users that seem to be registering through UM even though I have added recaptcha. I have also redirect WP register page to UM register page. I get around 10-20 spam registrations/day.

  • I encounter periodically with the same problem on some sites, and on some there are no problems. Try using the plug-in IP GEO block to block unwanted IP addresses, this will prevent further registration of spambots. Such a problem with many registration plug-ins is a lot of spam logs, and one of the outputs is a lock. Create a blacklist and go!

    Hi @cece101,

    Have you tried blocking access to default WP register form, which makes the users forced to register using UM register form (which has captcha protection)? You can do so by turning off this option: Allow backend register screen for guests in the plugin access settings tab.
