    Hi,

I’ve been having problems lately with spammers signing up with the same username and email over and over again. I remove them, but 5 minutes later they register again. I don’t know if something is wrong on my end, but I can’t see IP-address of users and there is no box where I can blacklist ip’s or emails.

    Hi @danniee
Please note: user registration and account creation is a part of WordPress core. wpForo only provides a registration form. You can install and configure any WordPress antispam plugin to protect spam user registration. This is not wpForo part, this is WordPress part. And all WordPress websites are under hard spam attacks all WordPress websites get hundreds of spam registration per day. You should use proper solutions against spam.

wpForo can also help to protect against spam user registration with built-in reCAPTCHA. You should configure and enable reCAPTCHA for all registration forms in Dashboard > Forums > Tools > Antispam Tab. You should disable other reCAPTCHA plugins and use wpForo built-in reCAPTCHA.

Also, wpForo is well integrated with Akismet. You should install and activate Akismet too. There is also a free plan.

If you install other plugins for registration protection I recommend do a deep test and make sure those plugins don’t stop forum registration process.

Hi and thank you for the fast reply. I totally understand what you’re saying and yes, WordPress sites being hit with spam is nothing unusual. What I find strange, however, is that I cannot find any IP information in the user list (which is the case in the core version of WordPress?) or any way to block IP’s or emails. Does Wpforo remove this option when installed or is something wrong with my installation? I don’t see these boxes anymore in WordPress.

wpForo has no any relation to IP address storage for sure. As far as I know WordPress doesn’t store IP addresses. You should install some statistic plugin to see visitors IP addresses.

@gvectors-team ok I see. Very strange, I am almost certain there use to be a row for user ip in the admin panel in the user list!

The option to blacklist emails, where has it disappeared? That I know 100% used to be in the admin panel, but I don’t see it anymore.

Maybe it was removed in the latest updates. But you can disable wpForo and see, that wpForo has no any relation to that field. I think you had some plugin which was displaying that IP field. That was not the WordPress core function.

Yeah, you’re probably right. If I could make a request it would be great with an inbuilt feature to blacklist email address since many spammers use the same one over and over.
