Hello, I am not sure if this is where I should come, but it appears that the ReCaptcha may not be working on the form anymore. In the past several weeks, we have been having an increase in spammers some how filling out the form and submitting.

    These are my settings:

    Captcha Settings
X Enable CAPTCHA (This box is checked)

    Captcha Type:
    Built-In
X Google ReCaptcha (This box is checked)

Both my Site Key and Secret Key have been put in correctly and everything seemed to be working previously.

Also, I noticed the plug-in hasn’t been updated in awhile. Will you still be supporting it? Thank you.
    Best,
    ~linda

  • Its not likely so many spammers are able to get around google recaptcha without having a bug in your recaptcha integration.

I will try another plugin that uses contact form 7 and its integrated recaptcha, if the spam is reduced I will let you know because it means its a bug.

Hi there. I recently purchased WP Cerber for spam protection of the site.

Do you have any experience with that product? I typically get like 30 BS form fills to each good one on anything on our website.

As this is a nonprofit where I volunteer time it’d be nice not to have to deal with so many bad entries.

    Thanks.

@cancercanrockrich WP Cerber may or may not help – this plugin is not designed to work with it — so unless it hijacks form submits it’s unlikely to help here.

Support could likely be added, but we’d need a copy of the plugin to test it.

Thanks for the quick response, Nick.

The plug-in has a free version, although we have the “Pro” – it does seem to work, so perhaps it “hijacks form submits” as you mentioned.

I’ve seen some rejections of bot-based form fills while allowing ones I manually filled out through.

Not sure I can share the plug-in code with you because it only allows use on one site, and it’s currently active, but perhaps could do a screen share if you like or something.
