    Hello there dear Aigars,

Using Sparkling now on my 4th website (I love it) I have another question.

I created the website https://riedel-service.de/ and I found the following
(Please see the main menu above the slider):

When clicking (from the “Home” page) on one of the “longer” menu items (“Arbeiten im Objekt”, “Arbeiten am Objekt”, “Allgemeine Arbeiten”, “Wir über uns”) the menu does a little “move” to the left, clicking then back to “Home” or to “News” it moves back.

This happens with Firefox 45.0.2 and Chrome 49.0.2623.112 m when I view the site on my Monitor with 1920 x 1080 px resolution.
It does not happen with these two browsers on a monitor resolution of 1366 x 768 px and smaller, and not on Internet Explorer in both resolutions.

I could not find any hint in the style.css or any of the phps.

May I please ask for your support in this case – do you have any hint or tipp what I possibly could do where in which file to get this fixed?

Thank you very much in advance for your reply.

    Best regards
    Winfried

  • Hi Winfried,

I hope you are well today and thanks for posting here.

This seems happening on your site because of the custom child theme that you are using on your site.

This can be child theme issue on your site so to confirm it just temporary use the Sparkling theme instead of child theme on your site. If everything works fine then it’s your child theme issue so just share me your child theme so that i can troubleshoot it.

If it’s the child theme issue then could you please share it to me so that i can troubleshoot it on my test site and help you to resolve the issue?

    Best Regards,
    Movin

    Hello there Movin,

Thank you, I’m fine. I hope you, too.
Thank you for checking and your input.

I checked using the Spüarkling theme (as is) and the moves did not occur. So it seems that it’s connected to the child theme.

Thank you for your offer to check that.
Where/how can I share that to you?

Thank you very much in advance for your further support.
Have a splendid and sunny weekend.

    Best regards,
    Winfried

    … a little addition:
I tested also with the child theme css file from my other site “dachauweb.de”. The moves where there as well, but do not occur on https://dachauweb.de/.

So the issue may be in nanother file of the child theme.

Thank you for your great service!

    Hello there Movin,

I hope you had a splendid weekend.

I checked once more after replacing the child theme of
    https://riedel-service.de/ by the one of
    https://dachauweb.de/.

The “move” occurred still in “riedel-service” although it does not in “dachauweb”.

Thank you for your offer to check and troubleshoot that.
Where or how can I share my child theme to you?

Thank you very much in advance for your further support and quick reply.

    Best regards and best wishes

    Hi Winfried,

To share the child theme you can simply provide a link to an child theme file through Google Drive, Dropbox, https://jumpshare.com/ or any other file sharing service. ??

    Best Regards,

Thanks for sharing the child theme.

To resolve the issue please try adding the following CSS code in the style.css file of your child theme.

    #page .nav.navbar-nav li {
        float: right;
    }

    Hello there Movin,

    Thank you for the message.

I did so. This changed (mirrored) the sequence of the navigation elements, but the jumps were still there.

    May be this helps:

When I click from “Home” to “Arbeiten im Objekt”, “Arbeiten am Objekt”, “Allgemeine Arbeiten” or “Wir über uns”, the entire Header row including the Logo image and the navigation jumps to the right, clicking from one of these pages back to “Home” it jumps back to the left.

When I click from “Home” to “News” it does NOT jump, also not when I click back from “News” to “Home”.

It does also NOT jump when I click between “Arbeiten im Objekt”, “Arbeiten am Objekt”, “Allgemeine Arbeiten” or “Wir über uns” and other “normal” pages.

As far as I understand WordPress themes the page files/templates for “Home” and for “News” are different from the ones for “normal” pages. Could it be possible that the reason for the jumps is somewhere in these template files?

    Also again:
This happens with Firefox 45.0.2 and Chrome 49.0.2623.112 m when I view the site on my monitor with 1920 x 1080 px resolution.

It does NOT happen with these two browsers on a monitor resolution of 1366 x 768 px and smaller,
and NOT at all on Internet Explorer in ALL resolutions.

Thank you very much in advance for your further support.

    Best regards and best wishes

When I click from “Home” to “Arbeiten im Objekt”, “Arbeiten am Objekt”, “Allgemeine Arbeiten” or “Wir über uns”, the entire Header row including the Logo image and the navigation jumps to the right, clicking from one of these pages back to “Home” it jumps back to the left.

I don’t find these menus except Home on your shared site.

    Please advise.
