• Hi

When using Eventin as a multivendor application, the Speaker Groups section is confusing and not working correctly for a multivendor set up.

By this I mean that every vendor can see every speaker group. So if one vendor creates a speaker group and puts speakers into that group, that same group can be seen by every other vendor and they can add that group to their event and in turn add speakers that have been created by other vendors.

No vendor wants to see other vendors speakers/organisers.

Can this be looked and with urgency please.

    Thanks

    Hi

Thanks for responding! However, your answer does not give me confidence that this will actually be implemented any time soon.

As it stands, I cannot use the plugin as it breaches GDPR laws due to the confidentiality of speakers and the fact that their information is being shared between vendors.

This is a serious issue that could be exploited negatively.

You cannot have one vendor add another vendor’s speakers to their event.

I have tried to remove any evidence of Speaker Groups using just CSS or JavaScript to hide it on the page, but the way the DIV elements are coded means that I cannot dig down to the correct element as they have not been given specific classes to identify them (another issue I feel should be addressed!)

Seriously, if this issue is not addressed, the whole plugin is in breach of GDPR laws and makes it unusable in the real world.

Please address this issue seriously and urgently.

    Hi @stevec0023,

Thank you for sharing your concerns. We genuinely value feedback like yours, as it helps us improve our plugin to better meet user needs.

Firstly, I’d like to assure you that this situation does not constitute a data breach or violate GDPR requirements. The way Speaker Groups are displayed is similar to how Dokan and other multivendor plugins handle shared elements like product categories. These are presented universally rather than vendor-specific. However, we completely understand and respect your concerns regarding confidentiality and the usability of the system in your specific context.

Your point about the difficulty of targeting elements due to the lack of specific classes is also well taken. We have forwarded both of these concerns to our development team for review and consideration. Our goal is to make the plugin as flexible and compliant as possible while maintaining its core functionality.

We appreciate your patience while we work on improving the system. Please allow us some time, and we will update you as soon as any changes or enhancements are implemented.

Thank you again for your understanding and for bringing this to our attention.

    Best regards,
    M Mahbub

    Hi

Thanks for responding. What is the time line for these changes to become effective?

I either need to have Speaker groups that are Vendor specific, or I need to hide these elements using CSS or JavaScript.

It simply is not correct that one Vendor can attach another Vendors Speakers to an event that that Speaker has no association with. It is confusing!

    Thanks
