SpeakOut Email Petitions with 4.4

My hosting service recently automatically upgraded our WordPress to 4.4. This appears to have broken the capability to embed petitions in a page, e.g. with [emailpetition id=”1″]. It now just shows the short tag itself instead of the petition. Are there any plans to update the PlugIn to support this version? Does anyone have a workaround for this?
