Special need to restrict to a page by use of a URL.
-
I have been trying to find out if a plug in can be used for this need and suspect that a membership type plugin may just do it. My site does not require log in because it is read only. It does not even have a way to leave a comment.
Here is the set up: I use my web site as a resource of citations for my curriculum. Students have free access to the web site and I use URLs to pages to supplement course syllabus.
I also have a page that serves a non academic purpose. I want to post the URL to that one page and prevent that type of user from accessing any other page in the web site.
There is another page that should only be accessed unless someone has the URL specific to that page. I would like to prevent anyone using the site from clicking to that page from within the web site. Since it will be accessed by URL from the curriculum, a password will not work here.
Since a membership plug-in is designed to set up rules for access, is there any way to use one to accomplish my needs and still not have a sign-in?
I am sure that more discussion id needed and probably a concession on my part maybe necessary but I would like to get the conversation going.
