• Hello s2member experts!

I want to use s2member to allow a site visitor to search a list of members, display a few details of a selected one and then, having paid for 2 hour access to a particular page, be able to view additional user fields from their selected member.

I am currently trying to use the specific page acccess restrictions feature to do this.

After payment processing for specific page access, s2member sends the customer a url link to the protected page valid for 2 hours but I am struggling to think of a way to get the page to display the details of the chosen member. I somehow need the dynamic link that s2member emails to the user to contain the selected member number so I can pick it up and display the correct member details on the protected page.

Can any s2member experts think of a way I can achieve my objective?

    Many thanks

    Alastair

  • How about doing it the other way round?

By this I mean create a post for every member, with all his or her details. Then use excerpts from those posts in pages that members can browse.

Then use the Specific Post Access Restrictions feature to enable a user to purchase access to a specific member’s full details on his or her post by selecting a payment link attached to the relevant excerpt.

Thank you KTS915 for taking the time to suggest an alternative. It is an interesting idea but I do not want to administer anything manually and it seems like I would have to specifically link each member’s post to the Specific Post Access Restrictions feature, and update the list of restricted posts every time a new member registered. Sounds like a lot of work. I am sure there must be a way to provide one time, time limited access to member details for a specific member and hope that an S2member guru will have some ideas.

You’re probably right, but I was actually wondering whether you could automate the process by using a team plugin.
