Specifying categories?

  • Hi, this may be more of a Troubleshooting post, but ironically, I can’t load that page so I am posting here.
    I *think* I’ve installed everything just fine and set up everything, but I can’t for the life of me figure out where I specify “category” when I’m writing a post. The one post I have put up just links to General automatically. I have set up about 13 categories (none of them has a parent, is that a problem?). But I don’t see an option under Write or Edit that let’s me pick a category.
    What am I missing?? It seems like this would be soooo basic, how could I be missing where one specifies category? The only thing I can think of is that something’s not set up right so I’m not getting the option. But what?

  • It’s a bug in 1.2. If you’re in full-screen mode, you can’t see the categories for some reason.
    Hit the middle button on the top right hand corner of your browser and make your screen, say 3/4 size. You should be able to see the categories then.

    Wow, amazing, I never would’ve figured that out myself. THANK YOU so much! (By the way, at some level it must be there because when I did a Find for Categ using just the find-in-page feature of the browser it found another instance beyond the directory listing on top.. I just couldn’t see it.) How weird.
