Specifying Header Logo Height (To Reduce Cumulative Layout Shift)

  • Is there a way to specify the Header Logo Height in WP Astra (not just the width)? The reason I ask is when I test it on Google Insights, I can clearly see that it renders a perfect square for where the logo will be, when in reality, the logo is much more wide than it is high.

    This is the entire reason my CLS is not zero, and the shift is pretty prominant especially on the mobile site.

    When I go into the back-end Astra Header options, the only thing I can see is being able to change the header width, not the height, and clearly, without the height information, the browsers assume the height of the image will be equal to the width, until the image loads.

    Sorry for the delay.

    The CLS score is good on mobile and desktop I would say.

    We have some of our users who solve CLS score to zero when they deactivate their caching plugin. Please be advised that the Astra code is actually already optimized. So, when there’s a plugin installed and do another optimation, this probably when the issue comes up.

    Apart from that, I would like to inform you that we are working on the next major update, which includes CLS, accessibility, performance improvements, CSS optimizations, etc. So, this issue should be fixed when the major update is released.

    I am having the same problem. I have deactivated my caching plugins – and it’s still an issue. However, I need the caching plugin in order to minimise Javascript. How can I fix this … according to what I have read the CLS issue it going to really affect our rankings? We have been at 0.75 since we started using this theme in August last year? Please help – because I actually love everything else about this theme.
