    Hi

Is it better to use Spectra container block or column ?

Actually if i understand well, Spectra container replace “Groups + Columns” of native WP ?

so we should only use containers ? and not groups & columns ?

Please explain in detail as this is very important

    thank you

The container block uses the modern CSS styling method called flexbox, making it easier to align content and reducing the amount of CSS code. Flexbox works with all maintained browsers now that we don’t have to care about Internet Explorer anymore.

The old Spectra Advanced Columns block shouldn’t be used under any circumstances. When Brainstorm Force launched version 2.0 of Spectra, they deprecated the Advanced Columns block. Their decision caused so many issues and such a backlash that they reintroduced the block as a “legacy block” two days later.

I (just another WordPress user) and the Spectra team probably have different views on whether you should use Spectra’s Container block or the native Groups block. I would personally always recommend using the native block when possible. It will continue to work regardless of whether you stick to Spectra or switch to another block plugin in the future.

Do note that the native Group block isn’t fully developed yet. It has settings for aligning content but lacks settings for justifying content. My recommendation would therefore be to use the native Group block when possible and otherwise switch to Spectra’s Container block.

(WordPress’ native Row block and Column block are practically the same block as the native Group block. Spectra’s Advanced Column block is a totally different block than Spectra’s Container block.)

    Hi @deepblue5,

Spectra container has a lot of advanced features including the flex properties. Here are the few documents that will help you in understanding the container block and its importance.
    https://wpspectra.com/docs/spectra-container-block/
    https://wpspectra.com/docs/spectra-container-flex-property/

I would suggest you to use the container block due to advanced features in it as compare to the native blocks.

    Have a nice day!

    Hi again ??

thanks again for your help on this !
I am working on templates with spectra blocks, it works pertfectly fine ??
    i created additional?templates (for pages)
    my question is :
i have hundreds of pages with parents and child pages
how can i apply a template to all pages child of a specific parent page ?
    (like with elementor)
please tell me theres an easy way to do that and that i dont have to edit all of the hundreds child pages ? (and apply manually the good template)
i would like to set the condition :
all pages child of XXX page > apply Page template XXX
how can i do that ?
    thank you ??
