Speed issue when creating thumbnails

  • Dear reader,

    We experience an issue with the speed of the thumbnail creator. When our media library starts growing with images, the speed of creating new thumbnails is getting slower. We certainly know that other components don’t cause this problem. Is there a solution?

  • But how big is your media-library and how many image-size do you create per image?
    Do you have an image compressing plugin installed?

    We started with 0 images ofcourse.
    Now we have around (this keeps growing):
    – 1000 images
    – 10 sizes for each image
    – Yes, we have an image compressing tool

    1000×10 images is nothing for the Database processing, so the database must not be a slow-down issue. Are you utilizing a shared hosting?
    Not, the Bluehost, right? ??
