Thank you to send this link,but i have tried exactly these instructions as well as by installing apt-get install libmysql++-dev and mysql-client-5.1 in the usr/bin root of my system which has ubuntu 10.0.4 operating system.

I created the sphinx directory in /opt/lampp and gave full permission,once i try to install and configure sphinx it showing make , make install.

It seems you don’t have g++ compiler on your system.
Try installing it: sudo apt-get install g++

After installing g++

It seems you have successfully installed Sphinx and you can start using it. Default directory for sphinx is /usr/local/sphinx.

As per your guidance , it installed successfully the next step which is Run indexing manually where as once i click it shows Sphinx index successfully rebuilt.but the real process before this rebuilt message a fifteen lines of details will be displayed like the process of database and the indepth details of path.it doesn’t show anything.

Could you please describe your current status in more details?

Next step is Run indexing manually, once i click that it just shows Sphinx indexing Successfully rebuilt. but the real thing is it has to show the indexing details like configuring with the mysql by providing the original database size and how it compresses to small size as well as the processing time taken with the no of keywords searched by user will be in search log those kind of details definitely shown once the indexing done.

Try commands below to manage your index from command line via ssh.

If you will have a problem then show the output of the command and your sphinx.conf file.

Start Sphinx: /path/to/sphinx/bin/searchd –config /path/to/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf

Stop Sphinx: /path/to/sphinx/bin/searchd –config /path/to/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf –stop

Re-index: /path/to/sphinx/bin/indexer –config /path/to/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf delta_wordpress main_wordpress

Rotate indexes: /path/to/sphinx/bin/indexer –config /path/to/sphinx/etc/sphinx.conf delta_wordpress main_wordpress –rotate

For the configuring Sphinx it shows the configuration done but the make,make install command shows some errors where as your valuable inputs on secure shell command in administrator is a great help but now in my position is that i have to successfully implement in local host which is nothing but lampp.
