    Hello,

I have a very large (48 GB) site. It has several very large media files – around 20 files in the 500-650 MB range, one that is 705 MB. I backup to a OneDrive storage account. My question is how best to set the “Split Archive Every” limit? Do I set it to larger than my largest file, assuming my host allows it? Can I trust having a file split? Split Archive is currently set at the 400 MB default, and my first backup yesterday contained many warnings. It takes a long time to run, which is why I am asking for input before I run it again with a different value. The log file is 16 MB, so I won’t attach it will help.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

If the backup is timing out at 400Mb, we usually recommend that you reduce the split archive size down. Please check this FAQ: https://updraftplus.com/faqs/how-much-resources-does-updraftplus-need/

Thank you Bryle. I should have worded my question differently. There are no timeout issues. I would like to know the ideal archive split interval for a site that has many large files, for example 650 MB. Is it best to set split size higher than 650 MB? If you set it lower, such as 400 MB, what happens when it encounters a 650 MB file?

    Thank you.

    Hi,

    Apologies for the delay.

If you don’t have any issues with server resources then you can certainly increase the split archive size higher. You can test and see if your server is capable.

    Regards,
    Bryle
