• Hello,

Finished a site with a fresh install and new theme and migrated the users.

The problem is there was one user account used for 15 000 posts.

Does that not slow the site down?

Also in the drop down for users when visible there are two users for the same account. When something is published with that account it links to /author/wpconverter profile. It’s not the name of the user so assume it’s go to do with the migration.

How do I fix so that it points to the correct user profile?
Also, if needed how do I split the posts to multiple user accounts?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Having 15,000 posts may slow the site down whenever someone triggers a search of the database. You can’t do anything about that except to make sure the tables are optimized (you do that with a plugin). I run optimizer tools on databases about once a month for active blogs.

It makes no difference how many users the posts are allocated across.

It sounds like you created the username you wanted but when you imported the data you did not assign the old posts to that user account; instead, the import created a new user account.

You could always delete the database, recreate it, and then run the conversion again.
