Splitting a parent archive page into 2 sub cat divisions

    I hope this is the right place to post this question. I’ve had a poke around but can’t find the answer, hopefully someone will be able to point me in the right direction ??

    On my site i’m using the woothemes spectrum theme, which provides nice boxes for posts in the archive page

    I have organised my posts into categories like so:

    Conspiracy
    |- Conspiracy News
    |- Conspiracy Articles

    What I would like to do is alter this archive page so that it would display the child sub cats as 2 separate sections, so archive would consist of <category> news with <category> articles under it.

    I would require this to work for all archives, so I could just copy the code and increment the category variable by 1 for the first section (news) and 2 in the 2nd (articles). Would this be the best way of achieving this? If so, would anyone know which variable i’d need to adjust?

    I’m not new to wordpress but it’s been a while since i’ve done any template adjustments and i’ve forgotten most of what I once knew! (like the rest of the human race! ??
