• I have used Weaver II on several websites and am spoiled by the extensive theme options that let me design sites from top to bottom without coding.

On each page you can choose things like hide info bar top/bottom, hide page title, full page or sidebar options (for each individual page!), hide menus, etc. etc.

In theme options I can specify font, background color, borders – pretty much everything – for every element like widgets, images, menus, sidebars… while being fully responsive.

They are recommending it not be used for new sites going forward and after exhaustive search I cannot find another free theme that gives me that flexibility without having to resort to using code to edit the theme.

Would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions for a new free theme that has these features.

    Thank you!

I have used a theme called symphony that has flexibility in certain areas(font/background/text colors etc) without CSS file changes.

    Available here
    https://www.ads-software.com/themes/symphony/

I don’t know who THEY are.
But if you have visited weaver site and forum you should know there is a new generation called Weaver Xtreme that replaces Weaver II and Aspen with the same philosophy, just better.
Check the links on my previous post her

glad to hear that there is still an opportunity to use the theme family you are familiar with.

Thank you scrambler, but I tried Xtreme first. The options are not nearly as all encompassing as Weaver II, and on the add/edit page – at the bottom – the previous functionality (hide info bar top/bottom, hide page title, full page or sidebar options (for each individual page!), hide menus, etc. etc.) is no longer there.

And contentinsky – thank you – I looked at symphony as well but it looked like support and further development has been pulled, I will look into it again as it now appears to have been updated recently. Thanks!

You must have done something wrong, because Xtreme actually has a lot more options than Weaver II especially in the page / post editing page. You have many more choices to hide components in addition to the ones in Weaver II, and many more Sidebar choices.

You do need to install the fee Weaver Xtreme Theme support ( https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/weaverx-theme-support/ )plugin to get all the features.

If after doing that you are missing the features you mention (which definitely are in Xtreme), please post on the weaver forum ( https://forum.weavertheme.com/ ) with all the details and a link to your site.

But Xtreme has all the Weaver II had plus much more, so don’t dismiss it before you have spoken with us on the forum ??

Thanks scrambler – I went back and took another look and you’re right! Thank you so much – greatly appreciated!

Symphony is recently released theme which I use on various projects.

However, if you like the Weaver theme family, stick with that one if you are already familiar with it and like it.
