• Hi

I use the WP Mail SMTP free plugin too and I noticed it showed a couple of errors today. I examined the errors:

    `Email Source: bbPress Notify (No-Spam)
    Mailer: Other SMTP
The following From address failed: forum_admin [at] publictalksoftware.co.uk : MAIL FROM command failed,,0,SMTP server error: MAIL FROM command failed

    bbPress Notify (No-Spam)

    …/wp-content/plugins/bbpress-notify-nospam/includes/controller/common_core.class.php (line: 1337)

The test email might have sent, but its deliverability should be improved.

Mailer: Other SMTP SMTP Error: data not accepted.`

I did try doing a test email with their plugin and it did actually go through. It seems to be working. Is there anything we can do to make sure everythign is OK?

    Hi @ajtruckle,

Did WP Mail SMTP give you more information such as the message body that failed? Are other forum messages going through?

    Cheers,

    Hi

I am afraid that was all the info it gave. The issue seems sporadic so I am not really sure the root cause. This system seems to work, like, I sent a reply today and very quickly got the email notice.

The SMTP plugin does have a “extra debug info” setting buit it encourages you not to leave that on for too long. And since I don’t know what specifically triggers it ….

I do have more items in the error log. Ironically I don’t know how to redisplay the log. Only when the error shows with an exclamation at the top of the backend can I see the error log.

We may have to leave this but I wanted you to know that I get the sporadic isue.

Is there a way I can send you screen shots privately? I noticed the error again today and I want to share with you, but not in a public setting.
