Spurious “Deleted job” event items

I am experiencing the same thing reported some months ago by @m3memoir in

Simple History lists a continual cycle of spurious events:
Wordpress -[time]
deleted job [name of one of the site’s plugins or themes]
It will report a half dozen or so such events, wait an hour, then report a half dozen more, until it has run through all the active plugins and themes. Then it seems to start the cycle again.

@m3memoir found a plugin conflict responsible for this annoying behavior. Unfortunately the earlier thread did not specify which plugin caused the conflict, nor what was done to fix the problem (deactivate the other plugin? Change a setting?)

Any clues appreciated
